THE FOUNDER

‘The Magician Musician’

Morris “Butch” Stewart   (Founder, 1953-2017 )   Butch is a singer-song-writer, arranger, music producer, and Ad-man reigning from Chicago’s north-shore . His amazing talents have have touched the lives of Oprah Winfrey, Tom Joyner, and the McDonald’s corporation ( just to name a few).  His creative influence has helped guide the careers of Grammy award winners, Golden globe winners, and multi-platinum selling music producers. His life, and that of his family have even helped to inspire hit TV shows such as  “Empire”, “Glee”,  and  “American Idol”.

Butch & Brenda Stewart (Founders)  first met in 1969 at Thornton High-school in Harvey, IL where Brenda joined Butch in his garage band as a lead vocalist. They grew up playing in different bands and singing in an array of vocal groups. The couple fell in love and 12 years later they got married.  After 20+ years of success in the jingle business, and 2 years of marriage, Butch and Brenda decided to start a family. Son’s Leslie and Brandon were born as heirs to The  ‘Good Stewart’  Legacy which they carry on today.  Together, the family has achieved 40+ successful years of national ad campaigns , music production, and building what would become the most influential and imitated production house of our time.

On May 19th 2017, Butch passed due to complications regaurding cancer. He and Brenda would have been married for 39 years.  Since the devastation of losing their father, mentor, and business partner, The  ‘Good Stewart’  family and business have decided to pay him tribute though  The Art of Making Music Foundation.   “Butch is a man of Faith. His love for music and it’s profound impact on people, keeps us motivated and committed to our Faith, the foundation, and the communities we inspire.”   -Leslie Stewart

AMMF CAREER DAY

Evanston Township High School band (horn section), participating in a “Career Day” workshop at the Stewarts Joy Art Music facility (now Good Stewart Productions).

The Art Of Making Music Foundation (AMMF) programs provide hands-on-exposure to multi-media production, disciplines and career opportunities by applying structured experiences and the production of a multi-media projects for presentation at school with their peers, family and community.

AMMF allows each student to have an opportunity for positive personal growth by building self-confidence, self-esteem and creative expression through the validation of existing skills and discovery of new abilities.


HAVEN HELP US ‘90

In 1990 Butch and Brenda embarked on one of their most note worthy community projects to date, ‘Haven Help Us’ 1990. What would have been another mundane Haven Middle School (Evanston, IL) talent show, the Stewarts transformed into a full fledged scripted multimedia production.

The evening of the ‘Haven Help Us’ performance proved to be a huge hit when News Channels 2, 5, 7, and 9 showed up to cover the ground breaking event. Haven Help Up '90 gave a new and innovative inspiration to the Evanston Arts community, as well as the hit TV show “Glee”.

In 2017  The Stewarts  (Leslie, Brandon, and Keir) partnered with  North Western University  and  WNUR   Radio  to bring  Uncle Bucthies Live House  back to Chicago airwaves, this time as a tribute radio show called  Live House Radio.

Butch is also well know for his role as ‘Uncle Butchie’ of “Uncle Butchies Live House” on the ‘Tom Joyner Morning Show’ (nationally syndicated radio). At the top of every hour Tom features the original theme “Oh-oh-oh, It’s the Tom Joyner Morning Show”, written produced by ‘Uncle Butchie’ and an array of quality ‘Live House’ talent.

At the shows conception, Tom and Butch would collaborate on various aspects of the show. Butch didn’t just create a jingle, he created a sound and vibe that helped brand “The Tom Joyner Morning Show” into the stratosphere.
